ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Direction for establishment of a gasifier crematorium on the existing burial ground at Ward No.12 RS No.551/2, P Mettupalayam Village, Gobichettipalayam Taluk, Erode District is sought in this petition. According to the petitioner, though the authorities had started using the gasifier crematorium, due to several objections raised by the villagers, the same has been stopped; and that there is urgent need of having a gasifier crematorium in the existing burial ground.

2. These are matters to be examined by the local authorities and not by the Court. The local authorities may take into consideration various objections, representations; and take their own decision whether or not to have a gasifier crematorium. The third respondent/ Executive Officer, P Mettupalayam Town Panchayat, shall examine the matter and take appropriate decision in accordance with law.

3. The petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
