ORDER
Writ petition is filed for writ of mandamus, seeking directions to the 2nd respondent to refund the amount paid by the petitioner towards her daughter's education fees to the 2nd respondent institution, failing which to withdraw the recognition accorded by the 1st respondent to the 2nd respondent.
2. The petitioner approached the 2nd respondent institution seeking admission for her daughter and as instructed, the petitioner paid a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- towards institution fee. The petitioner later paid a sum of Rs.2,15,000/-, towards tuition fees to the respondent. While so, during the 2nd phase of counselling, the petitioner's daughter secured admission in SRM Valliammal College, Kattankulathur. Hence, the petitioner contacted and requested the 2nd respondent office, to refund the entire amount paid by her. As the request was not considered, the petitioner issued a legal notice to the 2nd respondent on 11.09.2023, and later filed a written complaint to the 1st respondent on 17.10.2023, about the conduct of the 2nd respondent. Since there was no action taken by the respondents, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.
3. Learned counsel for the 2nd respondent submitted that the petitioner had paid a total sum of Rs.2,15,000/-, and the 2nd respondent was ready to refund the said amount. Learned counsel further submitted that this was already informed to the petitioner by communications dated 03.05.2024, 23.05.2024 and 26.02.2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that although the petitioner had paid a total amount of Rs.3,50,000/- to the 2nd respondent, she is now willing to settle the matter by accepting the sum of Rs.2,15,000/- offered by the 2nd respondent towards full refund of the tution fee.
5. In view of the aforesaid submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the 2nd respondent's counsel handed over a cheque for a sum of Rs.2,15,000/- drawn in favour of the petitioner.

6. In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition. Recording the refund of Rs.2,15,000/- by way of cheque by the 2nd respondent to the petitioner and the petitioner's acceptance of the same, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
