The petitioners herein apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982 read with Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955 in Crime No.290 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner joining hands with other persons had illegally collected PDS rice under the pretext of annadhanam and after collecting the same, they had transported the same to other district and attempted to sell. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that, petitioner has two previous cases.

5. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioners and also considering the fact that the petitioner has two previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
