This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 17.10.2024 and to cancel the patta that stands in the name of respondents 4 to 6 with respect to the subject property.

2. Heard Dr.A.R.Shanmugam, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.M.R.Gokulkrishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for 2/4

respondents 1 to 3.

3. The specific case of the petitioner is that the SLR originally stood in the name of the great grandfather of the petitioner. Thereafter, the patta was issued in favour of respondents 5 and 6 by mistake. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to respondents 1 to 3 to cancel the patta that stands in the name of respondents 4 to 6. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 17.10.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law after affording an opportunity to the respondents 4 to 6 and final orders shall be passed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
