ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case, Cr.No.192 of 2016 was registered for the alleged offences under Sections 6 (4) of TN Scheduled Commodities [RDCS] Order, 1982 and 7 (1) (a) (ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955. The occurrence is of the year 2016. The allegation in this case is that the accused was found to be in illegal possession of 50kgs of PDS rice. There are no previous or subsequent previous cases against the accused. It is reported that the matter has been pending for service of summons for A2 and execution of warrant against A1. 3.Considering the nature of the allegation, the antecedents of the accused and since there is no likelihood of any meaningful trial being conducted and no useful purpose would be served by keeping the matter pending.

4. Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.248 of 2020 of Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Villupuram Taluk, Villupuram, stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.
