The Contempt Petition has been filed for punishing the respondents for having not obeyed the orders of this Court dated 08.04.2024 made in W.P.No.9531 of 2024.

2. This Court had set aside the refusal check slip issued by the authorities, when the petitioner herein had presented a Settlement Deed for registration. In the said order, this Court held that for filing sale certificate in Book I, the stamp duty need not be insisted. If the sale certificate is used for some other purpose, the same shall be dealt with as per law. Now, the Law is well settled that if the sale certificate is filed under Section 89(4) of the Registration Act to use for any other purpose, necessary stamp duty has to be paid and the document can also be impounded. This Court considered the above aspect in detail in Sri Balaji Fibre's case (W.P.Nos.415 of 2023, etc. batch) decided on 23.07.2024.

3. In such view of the mater, I do not find any reason to hold that contempt is made out in this case. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed. No costs.
