ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 6(4) Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) order, 7(1)(a)(ii), Essential Commodities Act, 1955 in Crime No.148 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation of the petitioner is that this petitioner along with other co-accused had transported 2500 kg of rice meant for Public Distribution System, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District, illegally by using four wheeler bearing Reg.No.TN-48-AE-6040. Hence this case. K. RAJASEKAR, J.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that one previous case is pending against the petitioner, the petitioner is the vehicle owner, A2, A3 already released on bail. However, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record including the First Information Report.

6. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel on either side, the co-accused already released on bail and one previous case is pending against the petitioner, quantity seized is also huge, the petitioner is having bad antecedents, and this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
