ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 11.03.2025 seeking regularization of service from the date of his initial appointment i.e.1972 and pension along with terminal benefits.

2. The petitioner is now aged about 70 years. Originally, the petitioner was appointed as a Road Inspector in the Tamil Nadu Highways Department on 17.08.1972. Subsequently, he was terminated from service with effect from 31.03.1976. Subsequently, he was re-appointed as Road Inspector by an order dated 02.11.2006 vide G.O.Ms.No.223 with effect from 10.11.2006. Thereafter, the petitioner retired from service on 28.02.2013 due to his attainment of superannuation. Therefore, the petitioner was engaged as Road Inspector from 17.08.1972 to 31.03.1976. Thereafter, he was re-engaged with effect from 10.11.2006 to 28.02.2013. Now the petitioner submitted a representation seeking regularization of his service from the date of his initial appointment seeking pension and other benefits. After a period of twelve years from the date of his retirement, now the petitioner sought or regularization of his service from the date 2/4

of his initial appointment. That apart, he was not continuously engaged by the respondent from the year 1972. From 1976 to 2006, he was disengaged and as such the petitioner is not entitled for any relief as sought for in the writ petition.

3. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits. Therefore, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
