Salem District, the 7th respondent herein against the Survey Nos.29/3, 29/5, 29/7, 29/9, 29/11 and 29/13 total extent of lands about 2.22 acres situated in Akkichettipalayam Revenue Village, Palaniyapuri Post located in Attur Taluk Salem District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025. ORDER

The petitioner asserts title to the lands in survey numbers mentioned in paragraph no.1 of the affidavit of an extent of 2.22 acres. Alleging that several conveyances have been unlawfully registered in relation to said property, the present writ petition has been instituted for cancellation thereof.

2. Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents 1 to 8. He submits that the registering officer does not have the power of cancellation.

3. The registering officer does not have the power of cancellation. Therefore, if the petitioner intends to declare the impugned sale deeds as null and void, the petitioner should approach the jurisdictional Civil Court. By leaving it open to the 3/6

petitioner to do so, this writ petition is disposed of without any order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
