ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 305(e) and 326(a) of BNS in Crime No.620 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found to be in illegal transportation of two units of norambu sand in a lorry.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and that a case of sand theft has been fabricated against him. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready to abide by any other stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the quantity of norambu sand involved is 2 units. He would further submit that the petitioner has got seven previous cases, which are similar in nature . Hence, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) and perused the materials available on record. 6.Taking into consideration the nature and gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 7.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
