ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and to consequently, appoint the petitioner to the post of Junior Assistant in the Animal Husbandry Department on compassionate grounds, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.
2. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, his father late R.Muthukumaran was employed as a Junior Assistant, having joined the service in the year 1991 and he subsequently, died on 24.11.20117, while he was holding the post of Superintendent, while he was in service. Thereafter, during 2018, the 2/6
petitioner made a representation before the 1st respondent immediately after completing 12th Standard, seeking appointment on compassionate ground, which evoked no response. While so, after a lapse of about five years, on 24.03.2023, the petitioner received a communication of the 1st respondent stating that compassionate appointments were being processed and that training for the post of Live Stock Inspector was scheduled to commence from 10.04.2023 for candidates listed under the 'Mercy list', in which, the petitioner's name was placed as the 50th Candidate. Upon receipt of the said communication, the petitioner resigned his job at Southland Trading, Chennai as a Digital Marketing Administrator. However, subsequently, the petitioner was informed that the said training got cancelled.
Thereafter, the petitioner was issued with the appointment order dated 30.06.2025, appointing him as an Animal Husbandry Assistant, without taking into consideration his non-willingness to the said post and without taking into account the educational qualification of the petitioner. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner sent a representation dated 22.09.2025 to the 1st respondent seeking change of post to Junior Assistant under compassionate ground.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and to consequently, appoint him to the post of Junior Assistant in the Animal Husbandry Department on compassionate grounds, as expeditiously as possible.
5. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that, appropriate orders will be passed on the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.
6. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by taking into account the educational qualification of the petitioner, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the 4/6
petitioner.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
