Respondent in both the Writ Petitions Writ Petition No.18846 of 2004 filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent and authorities functioning under him to receive the application of the petitioner for supply of electricity, consider the same and direct regular supply of electricity of residential tariff basis to the various units of the petitioner in No.7, Azizmulk 1st Street, Thousand Lights, Chennai-6, without insisting upon the production of the completion certificate from the CMDA/Corporation of Chennai, in the light of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, within such time as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
When the Writ Petitions came up for hearing on 20.07.2017, there was no representation for the petitioners, and hence, this Court directed the petitions to be listed under the caption "for dismissal" on 21.07.2017. On 21.07.2017, when the Writ Petitions were taken up for disposal, learned counsel for the petitioners requested time to verify and report as to whether anything survives for consideration in these Writ Petitons, and hence, the Writ Petitions were directed to be listed under the caption "for orders" today. Even today (28.07.2017), when the Writ Petitions are listed under the caption "for orders", there is no representation for the petitioners. Hence, the Writ Petitions are dismissed for default. No costs. W.P.M.Ps. are closed.
