: Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to settle the Earn Leave Surrender Amount amounting to Rs.35,797/- along with interest of 12 percentage per annum to be calculated from the date of retirement to till the date of payment towards the delayed payment of terminal benefits amounting to Rs.27,51,979 from the date of retirement i.e. 31.05.2022 to till the date of payment on 22.05.2023 within a specific period by considering the petitioners representation dated 09.08.2025.

ORDER
The writ petition is filed for a direction directing the respondent to settle the Earn Leave Surrender Amount amounting to Rs.35,797/- along with interest of 12 percentage per annum to be calculated from the date of retirement to till the date of payment towards the delayed payment of terminal benefits amounting to Rs.27,51,979 from the date of retirement i.e. 31.05.2022 to till the date of payment on 22.05.2023 within a specific period by considering the petitioners representation dated 09.08.2025.
2. The petitioner was appointment as Conductor in the respondent Corporation. Thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Selection Grade Senior Conductor and retired from service on 31.05.2022. The Earn Leave Surrender Amount towards the delayed payment of terminal benefits were not settled to the petitioner till today. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 09.08.2025 and it is pending with the respondent for consideration.
3. In view of the above, the respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 09.08.2025 submitted by the petitioner and disburse the applicable Earn Leave Surrender Amount towards the delayed payment of terminal 2/4
benefits with interest at the rate of 6 % per annum, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 28.10.2025 Speaking (or) Non Speaking Order mrn To The Management of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Salem) Ltd, No.12, Ramakrishna Road, Salem 636 007.
