ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking patta for the land comprised in Survey No.306, Old Survey No.6, Navapatti Village, Mettur Dam, Salem district totally to an extent of 2 acres of land. 2.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused all the materials placed before this Court. 3.

On perusal of records, it is revealed that the petitioner is running a small scale industry under the name and style of Tamilnadu Machines Work in the land comprised in survey No.306, old survey No.6, 2/4

Navapatti Village, Mettur Dam, Salem District to an extent of 2 acres. The petitioner also registered the same under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in UAM No.TN20 OA0059916. The petitioner is in occupation for the past several years. Though the petitioner obtained electricity service connection and other amenities, the subject land is classified as Government poramboke. Now he wants to pay the cost of the land for issuance of patta.

Admittedly, the land is classified as Government poramboke land and as such it cannot be assigned to the petitioner by issuance of patta. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner cannot be considered and the writ petition is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
