ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Prayer for cancellation of patta has been made in this petition filed as a public interest litigation. According to the petitioner, respondents 6 to 9 have been illegally granted patta over a land which includes water channel.

2. Learned State Counsel submits that there exists a remedy under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.

3. The petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file

an appeal under Section 12 of the Act of 1983 against the patta granted in favour of respondents 6 to 9. There will be no order as to costs.
