This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 26.05.2025 wherein the petitioner has sought for resumption of OSR lands to its original position.
2. Heard Mr.N.Manokaran, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the house site was developed in the name of Devaraj Nagar and site numbers 8, 9, 32 and 52 were earmarked as OSR lands. The grievance of the petitioner is that the lands, which were earmarked as OSR lands, were illegally occupied by certain persons. Hence, a complaint was sent to the first respondent, which was forwarded to the third respondent. The third respondent has sent a reply stating that no one was granted any patta with respect to OSR lands. The grievance of the petitioner is that action must be taken against persons, who are occupying OSR lands and representations given by the petitioner in this regard did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the petitioner has approached this Court. 3/6

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 25.08.2025 by means of legal notice and initiate action and take a decision on its own merits and in accordance with law and complete the said process within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If there are any other interested parties, notice shall be issued to them before final decision is taken by the second respondent.
This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
