ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking transfer.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner had joined the respondent department as Warder Gr.II at Vellore, Central Prison in the year 2011. Thereafter, he was promoted as Warder Gr.I. While being so, the petitioner was transferred to Central Prison, Coimbatore on 02.06.2025 and joined there. Now, the petitioner submitted a representation seeking transfer to either Salem or Chennai on the ground of family circumstances.

On instruction, Mr. Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the petitioner had joined the Central Prison, Coimbatore only on 02.06.2025 and therefore within a period of 4 months, the request made by the petitioner seeking further transfer cannot be considered.

5. Admittedly, the petitioner had joined the Central Prison, Coimbatore only on 02.06.2025. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner seeking further transfer cannot be considered at this stage. However, if any vacancy arises in the future, the respondents are directed to consider the request made by the petitioner.
