Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner, along with one Mr.Selvakumar and his daughters, had jointly purchased the subject property vide sale deed dated 12.06.2023. Subsequently, he filed a partition suit in OS.No.914 of 2023. During the pendency of the said suit, the parties arrived at compromise, whereby the entire property was allotted to the petitioner, for which he agreed to make payment to other parties. The said compromise was recorded before the Lok Adalat on 15.02.2024. The award passed by Lok Adalat was duly registered on 03.04.2024 after paying necessary registration fee. Under these circumstances, the petitioner received a notice dated 24.01.2025 from the 2nd respondent, demanding payment of Rs.2,18,200 as deficit registration fee. notice was issued without any basis. Hence, he prays for an order of interim stay.
3. Considering the above submissions, this Court is inclined to grant an order of interim stay. Accordingly, there shall be interim stay till the next date of hearing.
4. Post this matter after 8 weeks.
