ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the petitioners' representation dated 30.06.2025 wherein the petitioners have sought subdivision of the property and for issuance of patta in respect of the subject property.

2. Heard Mr.Balan Haridas, learned counsel for petitioners, Mr.P.Ganesan, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for fourth respondent.

3. The case of the petitioners is that they are owners of a large extent of land and the Indian Railways acquired a large extent of land. With respect to the unacquired balance extent of land, the petitioners applied for issuance of sub-division patta. The applications submitted by the petitioner on 21.11.2024 and thereafter on 24.02.2025 did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has 2/4

been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to act upon the applications submitted by the petitioners on its own merits and in accordance with law after affording opportunity to the fourth respondent and final orders shall be passed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
