ORDER

Mr.D. Veerasekaran, learned counsel takes notice for respondents. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the respondents allot the property situated at Plot No.37, No.5/2, (78/2), 10th Avenue, Ashok Nagar, Chennai - 600 083 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.09.2025, within a time frame.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he and his brother were initially carrying on a cardboard business, jointly in Plot Nos. 37 and 38, comprised in S. Nos. 5/2 and 78/2, situated at 10th Avenue, Ashok Nagar, Chennai - 600 083. Thereafter, upon mutual agreement entered into between them, Plot No. 37 was allotted to the petitioner and Plot No. 38 to his brother, and they continued the same business, separately in their place.

It is the grievance of the petitioner that based on the representation submitted by his brother before the respondents, Plot No. 38 came to be allotted in his brother's favour, who is presently in possession and enjoyment of the said property. However, the application submitted by the petitioner on 18.03.2020 seeking allotment of Plot No.37 in his favour has been kept pending without assigning any reason. to the respondents, ventilating all his grievances. It is his further grievance that till date, his representation has not been considered and no final orders have been passed. Hence, the petitioner has come up before this Court by filing the present writ petition.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the records placed before this Court.

The learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the grievance of the petitioner is to be addressed before the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, formerly known as the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB). However, he submitted that he has no objection for issuance of appropriate directions by this Court, in view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner. Hence, this Court may issue suitable directions in the above regard.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to submit a fresh representation, along with the earlier representation dated 20.09.2025 and the application dated 18.03.2020, along with this order copy, to the competent authority of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Chennai, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the authority concerned shall consider 3/5

the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a further period of four weeks, thereafter.

8. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.

9. Registry is directed to forward a copy of this order to the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Chennai.
