O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay compensation for a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- to the petitioner towards the death of her husband due to electrocution as per petitioner's representation dated 06.10.2025.

2. Mr.L.Jaivenkatesh, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents

3. It is the case of the petitioner that her husband died on 18.09.2022 due to electrocution. Hence, the petitioner had submitted a representation datd 06.10.2025 to the respondents requesting them to pay the compensation amount to the tune of Rs.10,00,000/- towards the death of her husband. However, no action has been taken on the same till date. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is entitled to receive a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- as compensation amount as per the TANGEDCO Proceedings No.6 dated 16.10.2019. Therefore, this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to disburse the compensation to 2/4

the petitioner in terms of the board proceedings within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the compensation amount of Rs.5,00,000/- will be disbursed to the petitioner in terms of the boards proceedings within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to disburse a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- as compensation amount in terms of the board proceedings dated 16.10.2019 to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If at all the petitioner has any grievance with regard to the quantum of compensation awarded, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Tamilnadu District Legal Services with regard to enhancement of compensation.

7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
