O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the First to Third Respondents to supply the ground water drawn from bore wells at the Takkolam village to the overhead Tank of the Takkolam Panchayat through pipelines provided for transporting the ground water to Arakkonam Township at their own cost.

2.

Heard Mr.M.Sriram, learned counsel for the Petitioner, Mr.K.S.Suresh, learned Government Advocate appearing for the First and Second Respondents, Mr.P.S.Jayakumar, learned counsel appearing for the Third Respondent and Mr.P.T.Ramkumar, learned counsel for the Fourth Respondent.

3.

At the request of the learned counsel for the Petitioner, the matter was adjourned on 28.04.2018, 04.06.2018, 07.06.2018, 12.06.2018, 27.06.2018, 29.06.2018 and 03.07.2018 to ascertain the current status of the matter. However, today a Memo is filed by the learned counsel for the Petitioner stating that he is unable to contact the Petitioner and hence, he is reporting "no instructions" for further proceeding in the matter. The Petitioner does not appear to be interested in prosecuting the Writ Petition.

4.

It is unlikely that the situation that was existing in Takkolam Village of the Petitioner regarding water supply at the time of filing of the Writ Petition would still remain same even now. In such circumstances, the Writ Petition is disposed of leaving it open to the Petitioner to pursue the available remedies for meeting the needs of water supply in Takkolam Village as and when

necessity arises in accordance with law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(CS IX) //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar sr To
