The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to conduct a proper investigation in Crime No.143 of 2019 and to file the final report before the Court concerned. 1/4

When the matter was taken up today for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that the investigation in this case was completed on 21.05.2021 and the case in Crime No.143 of 2019 was closed as "undetected". He further submitted that the respondent Police are yet to serve the Referred Charge Sheet on the de facto complainant.

Taking note of the fact that the investigation in Crime No.143 of 2019 was completed as early as 21.05.2021 and that the RCS has not been served on the petitioner/de facto complainant till date, this Court directs the respondent Police to file the final report within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, under due intimation to the petitioner/de facto complainant. On such filing, the petitioner/de facto complainant shall be at liberty to file a protest petition before the court concerned, if so advised.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction.
