Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to conduct a survey in S.No.579/1B Kathiavadi Village, Arcot Taluk, Ranipet District, and to issue a separate patta in the name of the petitioner after sub-division of the land, by considering the petitioner's applications bearing Nos.2024/0105/37/392829 dated 17.08.2024 and 2025/0123/37/003884 dated 24.04.2025 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to deal with the applications submitted by the petitioner on 17.08.2024 and 24.04.2025 wherein the petitioner has sought for survey of the subject property and also for issuance of patta in the name of the petitioner after the sub-division of the land.
2. Heard Mr.K.V.Sajeev Kumar, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondent.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner purchased an extent of 0.52 cents by way of a sale deed dated 04.07.2022 registered as document No.5121/2022. After purchase of the property, the petitioner's name was included in the joint patta No.181 along with other shareholders in Survey No.579/1B. The petitioner submitted an application for sub-division of the land and for issuance of separate patta 2/4
on 04.01.2023 after paying necessary fees. The petitioner also submitted an application on 19.04.2023 seeking survey of the subject property and for demarcation of boundaries. Since the petitioner did not receive any response, representations were made and the same also did not evoke any response. The petitioner once again submitted an application for survey and for demarcation of boundaries by paying necessary charges on 08.08.2025. This application also did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the respondents 2 and 4 to act upon the petitioner's application dated 08.08.2025 and conduct survey in the subject property based on the title document and joint patta that has already been issued. If there are any other interested parties, such survey shall be conducted in their presence. The said process shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. After the completion of survey, the request made by the petitioner seeking sub-division of the patta shall be considered by second respondent and appropriate orders shall be passed within a period of eight (8) weeks thereafter. 3/4
