This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent herein to dispose the representation dated 05.09.2025 objecting for renewal of For C license issued to Ganapathy Ram Theatre for the exhibition of the films at premises Old No.101, New No.50, Dr.Muthulakshmi Road, Adyar, Chennai600020 within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
2. Since separate court fee has been paid by the petitioners, W.M.P.No.45469 of 2025 filed seeking to permit the petitioners to jointly file the present Writ Petition is ordered as prayed for.
3. Mr.S.Balaji, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

4. It is the case of the petitioners that Ganapathy Ram Theatre is a Partnership firm comprising of family members as partners. However, without the consent of the other partners, one of the partners namely Jayakumar had unilaterally sought for renewal of Form C license in respect of the aforesaid theatre by way of fabrication of certain documents. Objecting the same, the petitioners have made a representation dated 05.09.2025 to the Licensing Authority, the respondent herein. Despite receipt of the same, till date no action has been taken by the respondent. Hence, the petitioners have come up with the present Writ Petition seeking the aforesaid relief.

Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation 05.09.2025 and pass orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
6. On the above contention, this heard the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent.

The issue raised in this Writ Petition is purely a private dispute between the parties which can be adjudicated only by the competent civil court and hence, the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition cannot be acceded to. The petitioners are at liberty to raise all their claims before the competent civil court and work out their remedy in the manner known to law.
8. Accordingly, Writ Petition stands disposed of in the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs.
