O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner, who is the sister of the life convict Dinakaran (Convict No.6393), S/o.Mohan Raj, aged about 42 years, has filed this petition seeking ordinary leave for 30 days without escort to the life convict.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is getting married on 31.10.2025. According to the petitioner, the life convict is serving sentence for more than 9 years. And the life convict was granted ordinary leave by this Court on 23.07.2024 in W.P.No.17244 of 2024 between 30.07.2024 and 28.08.2024 and for this year, he is entitled to 28 days ordinary leave as per Rule 22 of the Tamil Nadu Suspension of Sentence Rules, 1982.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has filed the Probation Officer report from which it seen that the petitioner's marriage is scheduled to be held on 31.10.2025 and on the previous occasions also, the life convict was granted leave without escort and the life convict surrendered without any untoward incident.

4. This Court carefully considered the rival submissions and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the submissions made and the fact that the life convict has availed leave only last year, there shall be a direction to the respondents to grant 28 days ordinary leave without escort to life convict Dinakaran (Convict No.6393), S/o.Mohan Raj, aged about 42 years, from 30.10.2025 to 26.11.2025 with a condition that the life convict shall report before the jurisdictional police i.e., K-5, Peravallur Police Station, Chennai District, daily at 10.30 am. After expiry of the Ordinary Leave, the life convict shall surrender before the Jail Authority on 27.11.2025 before 10.00a.m. The life 3/5

convict shall utilize the leave only for the purpose for which it has been granted and shall not indulge in any other activities.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
