O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2023 under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act' for short).

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. On perusal of records, it is revealed that the petitioner submitted the representation dated 24.01.2023 to cancel the settlement deed executed in favour of the second respondent under the Act. The Revenue Divisional Officer is the competent authority to consider any application filed for cancellation of settlement deed under Section 23(1) of the Act. 2/4

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a representation to the concerned jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer within a period of two weeks from today. On receipt of such representation, the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer is directed to consider the same after issuance of notice to the petitioner and the second respondent herein and after giving opportunity of hearing to them, pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
