The petitioners, who apprehend arrest by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(A), 4(1-A)(ii) and 14(A) of 1/4

the Tamilnadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024 in Crime No.545 of 2025, seek anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that on 08.10.2025, based on secret information, the respondent police intercepted a car, wherein they found 240 bottles of blue grape, each containing 750 ml, being transported from Puducherry to Kallakurichi. Hence, the complaint. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the first and second accused were arrested and are in judicial custody. He further submitted that the petitioners were only acted as pilots, providing information about police checks on the route and then only the transport vehicle proceeded. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that there are totally 10 accused in this case and the petitioners herein are ranked as A3 and A4. He further submitted that the arrested accused are still in judicial custody and some of the other accused are still absconding. Hence, he opposes for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners. 2/4

5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners as well as the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the submissions made on both sides and the fact that the contraband/property involved is of huge quantity, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.
