ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 26.08.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) of NDPS Act, 1985 r/w 8(c) of NDPS Act, 1985 in Crime No.178 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.

The case of the prosecution is that based on a secret information, the respondent police went to the spot and found that the petitioner was in possession of 1.750 kilograms of ganja. Hence, this case. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and he is in judicial custody since 26.08.2025. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and sought for bail to the petitioner.

The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) appearing for the respondent while opposing the bail to the petitioner, reiterated the 2/4

prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has 8 previous cases, out of which six cases under NDPS Act; and that the investigation of this case is pending.

Considering the facts, the previous antecedents of the petitioner, the quantity of contraband involved and taking note of the fact that the investigation of this case is pending, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
