ORDER
This writ petition (criminal) has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to conduct a preliminary enquiry based on the complaints dated 04.03.2024, 12.08.2024 and 01.09.2025 given by the petitioner and to consequently, take further action in accordance with law.
2. Mr.R.Vinothraja, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this writ petition (criminal) is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The case of the petitioner is that he is the Director of a company namely, K6 Alloys Private Limited, which is a duly registered private limited company involved in the business of foundry operations to cast metal. On 03.11.2023, it was found that some expensive parts-based components of the foundry, injection tooling equipment and other foundry machinery parts were stolen by unknown persons from the petitioner's company premises. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 2nd 2/6
respondent and though the said complaint was acknowledged under CSR No.1838 of 2023 dated 27.11.2023, thereafter, no steps were taken by the 2nd respondent. In such circumstances, as registration of First Information Report is required for claiming insurance, on 04.03.2024, another complaint was filed before the 1st respondent seeking to investigate the matter. However, it was informed that the investigation might be delayed due to 2024 Indian General Election. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner once again lodged a complaint before the 1st respondent on 12.08.2024 explaining the difficulties faced by him. In the mean time, the petitioner came to know that the investigation in CSR.No.1838 of 2023 was dropped by the respondent police. Hence, the petitioner made a detailed representation to the 1st respondent in this regard on 01.09.2025. However, till date, no action has been taken by the respondents on any of the above said complaints made by the petitioner. Hence, the present writ petition (criminal) has been filed before this Court seeking an appropriate direction.
4. Though very many grounds have been raised, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a 3/6
direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's complaints dated 04.03.2024, 12.08.2024 and 01.09.2025 and to consequently, conduct a preliminary enquiry and take further action in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that in respect of the very same allegation, one Arulkumaran, the erstwhile Director of the petitioner's company namely, K6 Alloys Private Limited had given a complaint, based on which, a case in Crime No.983 of 2025 came to be registered on 26.10.2025 for the offences under Sections 457 and 380 of IPC against the unknown persons and that investigation is going on and appropriate orders will be passed within the time stipulated by this Court.
6. In view of the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to expedite the enquiry in Crime No.983 of 2025 and complete the investigation and pass appropriate orders on 4/6
merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition (criminal) stands disposed of. No costs.
