Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.08.2025 and thereby direct the respondents 1-2, to rectify the father's name as Naveenkumar instead of Naveen Sharma in birth certificate of son named Yunaysharma dated 23.08.2025 issued by respondent-2 within time as stipulated by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

Mr.P. Ganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the 1st respondent. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2025 with regard to rectification of father's name in the Birth Certificate of his son Yunay Sharma.

3. It is case of the petitioner that the 2nd respondent issued birth certificate dated 20.03.2024 for his son Yunay Sharma, wherein his name viz., father's name in the birth certificate, has been mentioned as Naveen Sharma instead of Naveenkumar. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation to respondents 1 and 2 on 23.08.2025, seeking for the aforesaid rectification. However, till date, no action is taken and hence, the present writ petition has been filed seeking for the appropriate relief.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2025 and pass appropriate orders within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. On the other hand, the learned counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law and he submitted that such a direction may be issued to the second respondent.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the first respondent and perused the materials available on record. 7.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.08.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
