For Petitioners : Mr.R.Munuswamy For R1 to R4 : Mr.M.Bindran Additional Government Pleader For R5 and R6 : Mr.R.Surendran Additional Government Pleader O RDER This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 06.03.2025 and provide priority in the selection process of Assistant Surgeon in Tamil Nadu Medical Services.
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The first petitioner had completed MBBS degree and he is the first degree holder in his family. The second petitioner, who is the paternal grand father of the first petitioner owned agricultural land to an extent of 4 acres in Parayapatti Pudur Village, Pappireddipatti Taluk, Dharmapuri District. It was
acquired in the year 1983 for the purpose of providing house plots to the AdiDravidar community people for their welfare and the second petitioner was paid compensation. At that juncture, the second petitioner was issued certificate that his legal heirs will be given priority to get Government job. The first petitioner appeared for selection process to the post of Assistant Civil Surgeon in the Tamil Nadu Medical Services in the year 2022. However, he was not selected to the said post. Hence, the first petitioner submitted a representation to give priority to him in the selection process to the post of Assistant Civil Surgeon in the Tamil Nadu Medical Services.
4. In view of the above, if any notification is issued for recruitment process to the post of Assistant Surgeon and if the first petitioner is in the zone of consideration in the selection process, the second and third respondents are directed to provide priority to the first petitioner in the selection process in accordance with law.
5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No
costs.
