O R D E R
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to the 2nd respondent to implement the order passed by the 1st respondent dated 25.01.2025 with a consequential direction to the 2nd respondent to issue/renewal of the petitioner's Arms License and to make relevant entry/endorsement in the license book for the additional Firearm ".222 LR Pistol" possessed by the petitioner within time frame that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
2. Mrs.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner being a retired Honorary Captain of the Indian Army and a renowned shooter, holds a "NonService Pattern" arms licence (No.N-472/179, UIN-315750036673652018) which was issued in the year 2003 valid until 28.02.2024. In the year 2018, the petitioner had applied for an additional .22. LR Sports Pistol, which was permitted on 07.07.2022 with a purchase deadline of 07.10.2022, later extended to 07.10.2023. Thereafter, he acquired the pistol from his daughter viz., 3/10
P.Raghavi with NRAI approval vide order dated 25.09.2023 as also the permission of District Magistrate, Thiruvananthapuram 04.10.2023 for further processing of transfer of weapon in the petitioner's name. Despite compliance of necessary procedure, the 2nd respondent had erroneously issued proceedings dated 24.01.2024 transferring the petitioner's license from Namakkal District to Chennai Corporation citing that petitioner had been working as Additional Chief Coach in Gurunanak Educational Society at Chennai. As against the said order, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the 1st respondent on 29.04.2024, in which, the 1st respondent after elaborate adjudication, has passed a detailed order dated 25.01.
2025 directing the 2nd respondent to issue/renew the license as also to make necessary endorsement in the petitioner's license book with regard to transfer of additional weapon. However, till date no orders have been passed by the 2nd respondent in compliance of the order dated 25.01.2025 of the 1st respondent. Aggrieved by which, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to implement the order dated 25.01.2025 passed by the 1st respondent and pass orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court. 4/10
5. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to implement the order dated 25.01.2025 passed by the 1st respondent and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other other interested parties.
7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition stands closed.

This matter has been listed under the caption "For being mentioned" at the instance of Registry.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of this Court that, an error has crept in the order dated 11.11.2025, wherein the Writ Petition number has been inadvertently typed as 42421 of 2025 instead of 42121 of 2025 in the header, cause title as well as in the docket sheet. Similarly, the name of the petitioner has been wrongly spelt as 'R.Pandian' instead of 'R.Pandiyan' in the cause title and therefore, it is prayed that necessary corrections may be made in the said order which was fairly conceded by the learned counsel appearing on either side.
3. In view of the above stand taken by either side, in the header, cause title as well as in the docket sheet of the order dated 11.11.2025, Writ Petition Number shall be read as 42121 of 2025 and the name of the petitioner shall stand corrected as 'R.Pandiyan' in the cause title.
4. Registry is directed to carry out the corrections as aforesaid in the order dated 11.11.2025 and issue a fresh order copy to the parties. 26.11.2025 Nhs
