Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to admit petitioner's brother, namely, Mayakanna, S/o.Alagarsami, aged, 48 years remand prisoner now confined in the Central Prison, Puzhal and 1/4

admitted in convict ward in Government Stanley Hospital as inpatient in Private Hospital for proper treatment or any other competent hospital for providing proper medical treatment to him.

O R D E R

(By N.Sathish Kumar,J.,) The petitioner, who is the sister of one Mayakannan, a Remand Prisoner, seeks a direction to admit her brother in a private hospital, as the Remand Prisoner is said to have sustained fracture on his leg.

2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents contended that the petitioner's brother / Remand Prisoner has been admitted in the Stanley Government Hospital and the necessary treatment is being given to him.

3. In such view of the matter, we are of the view that the petitioner's request cannot be acceded to. The respondents, especially 3rd respondent shall ensure that proper treatment is given to the petitioner's 2/4

brother in the Stanley Government Hospital and let the Orthopaedic Doctor attend to the petitioner's brother / Remand Prisoner.
