ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus and in particular the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 23.09.2025.

Heard M/s.R.Suganya, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to him by virtue of a registered Sale Deed dated 15.11.1985. During the UDR scheme, the name of one Iraniyan was erroneously entered as a pattadar for the subject property. Hence, the petitioner submitted an application on 10.09.2024 requesting for correction of the patta. The Tahsildar on receipt of the representation conducted an enquiry and directed the Revenue Inspector and VAO to submit a report. Subsequently, after hearing both sides, the Tahsildar submitted a detailed report dated 22.11.2024 before the RDO, Chengalpattu. According to the petitioner, this report clearly states that a wrong name has been included in the patta and hence, a recommendation was made for the correction of the patta in the name of the petitioner. The RDO through a report dated 23.12.2024 had forwarded the same to the 2nd respondent. The grievance of the petitioner is that thereafter there was absolutely no progress. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition came to be filed before this Court. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case

and considering the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 23.09.2025 along with the reports that have already been submitted by the Tahsildar and RDO and necessary orders shall be passed by the 2nd respondent within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.
