Respondent(s) PRAYER; This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to reimburse the medical expenses of Rs.1,93.434/- incurred towards the emergency medical treatment and surgery for Malignant Tumor at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Bangalore, Karnataka, with 6 percentage interest expeditiously and thus render justice.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to reimburse the medical expenses of Rs.1,93.434/- incurred towards the emergency medical treatment and surgery for Malignant Tumor at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre Bangalore, Karnataka, with 6 percentage interest.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner is a retired Government Headmaster and a pensioner. His wife underwent emergency treatment and Mastectomy Surgery for Malignant Tumor at Sri Sankara Cancer Hospital, Bengaluru on 19.10.2021. The petitioner has spent Rs.1,93,434/- towards emergency medical treatment. For reimbursement of the medical bill, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents and the same is not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned first respondent appearing for the respondent submitted that the representation will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 09.08.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order in terms of the order passed by this Court in W.P.no.10159 of 2019 dated 31.03.2022.
