: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide the petitioner suitable alternative employment /light duty on a permanent basis, in commensurate with his health condition on permanent basis without any interruptions, with continuity of service, pay protection, back wages and other service benefits and to notionally treat the entire period petitioner have been denied duty as duty with pay for all purposes, based on the medical boards' report, within a specified time as may be fixed by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide the petitioner suitable alternative employment /light duty on a permanent basis, in commensurate with his health condition on permanent basis without any interruptions, with continuity of service, pay protection, back wages and other service benefits and to notionally treat the entire period petitioner have been denied duty as duty with pay for all purposes, based on the medical boards' report, within a specified time as may be fixed by this Court.

2. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, the respondents are directed to consider the request made by the petitioner seeking alternative employment by subjecting the petitioner for medical examination and, after issuance of notice to the petitioner and giving him personal opportunity of 2/4

hearing, to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

3. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
