Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing to the respondents 1 to 3 consider and act upon the petitioner representation dated 09.06.2025 upon the illegal encroachment and other fire safety and traffic issues at the Lingu Chetty Street, Chennai-600 001 caused by the 5th respondent, within a time frame fixed by this Honourable Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard.

2. This public interest litigation has been filed by the petitioner alleging that respondent No.5 is running a restaurant without having proper fire safety measures. The petition is vague and does not refer to any provision of law or regulatory regime under local laws as to what kind of permission respondent No.5 is required to obtain before establishing the restaurant.
