ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This petition has been filed espousing the cause of landless Scheduled Caste Community members on the allegation that the respondents have proceeded to prepare a list for allotment of 40 vacant plots without considering the valid claim as per the existing scheme of the Government of Puducherry, Department of Adi Dravidar Welfare and Scheduled Tribes Welfare.

2. Upon instructions, learned counsel for the Union Territory would submit that allegations are factually incorrect and he has received a communication dated 17.11.2025 from the Director, Adi Dravidar Welfare Deparment, Puducherry, that issue of free house plots to the landless SC families in the available land vested with the Department of aranganur Pet in a rule-bound and transparent manner by calling for applications through press and by publishing a draft list of beneficiaries towards hearing of objections from the public, if any.

In view of the statement so made at the Bar by the learned counsel appearing for the Union Territory, we are not inclined to keep this petition pending. Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
