ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents to disburse the leave encashment benefits to the petitioner with applicable interest.

2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner was initially appointed as a Conductor in the respondent Corporation and was subsequently promoted to the post of Special Grade Page No.2/6

Conductor. Upon attaining the age of superannuation, he retired on 31.05.2023. However, the petitioner was not provided with leave encashment benefit for the period November 2018 and November 2019. The above amounts were also confirmed through information furnished to the petitioner under the provisions of the Right to Information Act.

4. In view of the above, the respondents are directed to pay the eligible amount to the petitioner together with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated period in settling the leave encashment benefits commencing from the date of entitlement till the date of actual disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
