The relief sought for in this writ petition is, for a direction to direct the respondent herein to permit the petitioner to carry on stone quarrying operation in respect of the lands bearing Survey No. 559 measuring an extent of 5.00.0 hectares in Thuraiyur Village, Thuraiyur Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District for a further period of five years pursuant to the amended Rule 8(8) of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1959 on payment of enhanced lease amount.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has filed a memo dated 19.07.2017 stating that the petitioner viz., M.Elangovan expired on 19.05.2012 and he has also enclosed a copy of death https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

certificate, which is placed on record.

3. In view of the death of the writ petitioner, the writ petition stands dismissed as abated. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
