Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to take action against the respondents 5 & 6 as per the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, based on their counter affidavit which was recorded and incorporated in the order passed by this Court on 13.03.2024 in W.P.No.4012 of 2024 and communicate about the compliance to the petitioner.

This writ petition came to be presented on account of the alleged inaction by the District Collector on the complaints made against the delinquent office bearers of the Panchayat.

2.When the matter was called on 13.11.2025, Mr.M.Shajahan, Special Government Pleader, reported that the Collector is seized of the matter and had directed the Assistant Director, Panchayats, to investigate 2/8

the same. He pointed out that a detailed enquiry report has been submitted and a show cause notice would be given to the delinquent office bearers. Upon obtaining their respective responses, the matter will be concluded within a period of three months. 3.I directed the District Collector to file an affidavit to that effect. 4.When the matter is called today, Mr.M.Shajahan, Special Government Pleader, has filed the affidavit of the District Collector, Kancheepuram, which is scanned and extracted hereunder:- 3/8

5.The undertaking given in page No.2 of the affidavit is recorded. The District Collector shall ensure that the undertaking is complied with scrupulously.
