Common Order The above writ petitions were filed by the petitioners challenging the notices dated 04.10.2025 and 06.10.2025 issued under Section 3(2) of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997, whereby the petitioners' lands situated in Echur A & B and Mettupalayam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, were notified for acquisiton for setting up of a new SIPCOT Industrial Park in Kancheepuram District, Tamil nadu.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Senior counsel for the petitioners filed a memo stating that a total of 116.7 acres of the petitioners' lands have been exempted from the proposed acquisition. The relevant paragraphs of the said memo are extracted hereunder: ''2. This Hon'ble Court, vide its common order dated 30.10.2025, permitted the petitioners to submit a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 within a period of one week. Further, the respondents were thereafter required to consider the said representation and passa reasoned order, based upon which the main writ petitions would be decided. Till such time, this Hon'ble Court directed that both parties maintain the status quo as it prevailed on the date of the order, whhile permitting the petitioner to proceed with construction activities.

In pursuance of the said direction, the petitioners submitted its representation vide letter dated 04.11.2025 to the respondents 1 to 3 requesting exemption of all the land owned by the petitioners and certain other lands lying amidst the petitioners' lands, which were subject matter of acquisition, located in Echur A & B and Mettupalayam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District covered under

acquisition in the SIPCOT Echur Industrial park Scheme, interalia on the ground that they are already in the process of implementing an industrial and logistics park in the said lands pursuant to an Memorandum of Understanding dated 08.01.2024 entered with the Government of Tamil Nadu represented by Guidance bureau, the nodal agency of the Government.

Upon considering the representation dated 04.11.2025, the Government of Tamil nadu has not passed G.O.(Ms.) No.161, dated 14.05.2026 (Annexure A), whereby the Government has decided to accept the proposal of the Managing Director, SIPCOT, as recommended by the District Collector, kancheepuram District and the Commissioner of Land Administration, and have ordered that 116.71 acres of land (i.e., 108.47 acres of the petitioners' land + 8.24 acres of other lands lying amidst the petitionersl lands ) in Echur A & B and Mettupalayam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, be exempted from the acquisition. It is respectfully submitted that a total of 116.7 acres has been exempted from the proposed acquisition. It is therefore prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to dispose all the aforementioned writ petitions in terms of G.O.(Ms.) No.161 dated 14.05.2026 passed by the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce (SIPCOT-LA) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.''

In view of the statements made in the memo filed by the learned Senior counsel for the petitioners, and taking note of the fact that the subject lands have been explicitly exempted from the proposed acquisition proceedings via G.O. (Ms.) No.161, dated 14.05.2026, issued by the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce (SIPCOT-LA) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, no further adjudication is required in these matters.
