ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 20.02.2025 seeking issuance of death certificate in respect of her deceased father within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
2. Mr.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that both her father and mother died on 02.08.2016 and 23.08.2021 respectively. Thereafter, the petitioner had applied for death certificate in respect of her deceased parents vide application dated 20.02.2025 before the 2nd respondent. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 20.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. On the above contention, this Court heard the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents who has no objection to the said order being passed.
6. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 20.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties.
7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
