ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to conduct enquiry and submit a report in a time bound manner pursuant to the communication issued by the 1st respondent dated 04.07.2025. 2.

Heard Mr.V.S.Usharani, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Ganesan, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 4.

The case of the petitioner is that her mother was the absolute owner of the subject property by virtue of a registered sale deed dated 23.08.1937 registered as document No.1497 of 1937. After the demise of the petitioner's mother, the petitioner as a legal heir became entitled to the subject property. The petitioner wanted to settle the property in favour of her daughter. However, when she

verified the revenue records, it was found that the name of the petitioner's mother was not included during the UDR that took place in the year 1987. In view of the above, the petitioner submitted a representation to the 1st respondent to rectify the mistake and issue updated patta and also transfer patta in the name of the petitioner based on the application submitted by the petitioner. The 1st respondent forwarded the petition to respondents 2 and 4 through communication dated 04.07.2025 with a direction to conduct enquiry and survey the lands with relevant records and submit a report to the 1st respondent. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the respondents 3 and 4 to act upon the communication made by the 1st respondent dated 04.07.2025 and complete the process of survey and enquiry and submit a report to the 1st respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the 1st respondent shall pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks thereafter.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
