ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on 14.02.2024 and pass orders within a time frame.
2. Heard Mr.B.Manoharan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the subject property was originally purchased by the petitioner's grandmother measuring an extent of 16 cents. During the life time of the petitioner, the grandmother settled the property in favour of the petitioner through a settlement deed dated 19.05.2003. Thereafter, joint patta was also issued in the name of the petitioner and others on 08.02.2024 in Patta No.680. However, while mentioning the extent, 2 cents was reduced both in the revenue records as 2/4
well as in the FMB sketch. When the same came to the knowledge of the petitioner, the petitioner approached the first respondent and filed an appeal on 14.02.2024. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to deal with the appeal filed by the petitioner on 14.02.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass final orders within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If there are any other interested parties, notice shall be issued to them before final decision is taken by the first respondent. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
