ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction tot he respondent to pay a sum of Rs.21,835/- towards outstanding dearness allowance, together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the belated period of payment to the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner had worked in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and retired from service on 31.05.2023. On the date of retirement, he was working as a Senior Trades Man in the respondent Corporation. However, he was not paid a sum of Rs.21,835/- towards the outstanding dearness allowance. Though the petitioner had made several representations, it was not considered so far.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to pay the outstanding dearness allowance along with the applicable interest to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
