ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 13.08.2025 for the offences punishable under sections 394 IPC in Crime No.558 of 2013 in C.C.No.29 of 2014 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Palladam, seeks bail.

2. The petitioner was earlier arrested and released on bail for committing robbery. The petitioner herein was absent and did not appear before the trial court. Hence, a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) was issued on 10.6.2025. He was immediately arrested on 13.8.2025.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was absent for only one hearing, is ranked as A4, and is ready to abide by any condition imposed by this court. He further submitted that due to illness, the petitioner was absent, and prayed for grant of bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reported that the case was registered in 2014 and has been pending due to non-cooperation from various accused. The petitioner was arrested, and the case is now posted for examination of the investigation officer on 10.11.2025. Once the investigation officer is examined, the trial is likely to

conclude. The petitioner has twelve previous cases. Hence, he opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Since the trial has reached final stage and the trial is likely to conclude and granting bail would likely to cause further delay. Hence, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed. The petitioner is at liberty to renew the bail application if the trial is not concluded within a period of two months.
