ORDER

When the Contempt Petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent submits that the respondent has now passed a fresh order vide letter dated 15.04.2026 including

the name of the petitioner in the panel for the post of Assistant Director of Fisheries for the year 2014-15, subject to the outcome of the writ appeal No.3981 of 2025 pending before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court preferred against the order dated 14.03.2025 in W.P.No.18666 of 2018.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader further submits that since the order of this Court in the writ petition, is pending consideration before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court, the further compliance with the order granting promotion would be undertaken after disposal of the writ appeal and for the said reason, the respondent have included the name of the petitioner in the panel for promotion in the year 2014-2015 subject to outcome of the writ appeal.

3. By submitting as above, the learned Special Government Pleader has placed before this Court a copy of the said proceedings in Letter No.7544/FS2/2020-25, dated 15.04.2026. The same is taken on record.

4. Since, the respondent has now included the name of the petitioner in the panel for promotion for the year 2014-2015 and the issue as to whether the petitioner is entitled for promotion or not is sub judice before the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the present Contempt Petition pending till the disposal of the writ appeal.

5. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed. No costs.

6. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to seek revival of the present Contempt Petition after disposal of the writ appeal filed by the respondent, in the event of respondent of failing to comply with the order of this Court.
