The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 30.09.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 396(b), 109, 249, 250 of BNS, 2023 and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 in Crime No.290 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner is the husband of the defacto complainant, this petitioner has harassed and caused severe mental agony, hence she attempted to comit suicide which resulted in criminal case registered in Crime No.257 of 2025 and thereafter, petitioner was arrested and released on bail. Developing enmity over the same, on 21.08.2025, petitioner went to the house of the defacto complainant and attacked her with bill hook and when her son was interfered to save her, he was also attacked indiscriminately and caused severe injuries and based on the complaint, petitioner was arrested on 30.09.2025. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is suffering from chronic liver disease and hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that, due, to the said attack, defacto complainant sustained severe injuries and further submitted that the injured victim has been discharged. 2/4

5. Considering the gravity of the offece and the fact that if the petitioner is granted bail at this stage, there is likelihood that the petitioner will engage in similar activities and hence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
